Welcome to the 5th season of Social Imagination, a community based theatre project rooted in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood. The innovative model integrates local stories with relevant social issues to devise a dynamic and interactive performance event. This year through interviews and verbatim monologues, we will focus on how the current social and political climate is impacting theatre and performing artists.

The Art of Dialogue: Restorative Conversations & Circles – August 1

Come out and practice the art of dialogue with Rachael K Sharp and Bianca Mikahn! How do we stay in a conversation when it gets heated? How do we broach difficult conversations, or decide if we need mediation? Conflict is inevitable, harm is not. This two part series will start by considering the origins of Restorative and Transformative Justice, and engaging with some foundational tools and practices for honest empathic communication.
Flip the Script: Act of Resistance – Summer Tuesdays until August 19

Join Rachael K Sharp in partnership with Theatre Artibus and The Savoy Denver this summer exploring a range of Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) modalities, including games, image, newspaper and forum theatre, and Rainbow of Desire. All of these forms are rooted in the practice of dialogue, storytelling and improvisation. Rachael’s approach also incorporates Somatic Abolition and applied theatre modalities, staying responsive to the people, place, and power dynamics at play.
